Patient access is paramount when dealing with an injured and stranded person at height, when significant injury or death can result from extended suspension on a fall arrest system. In this course we will focus on the timely and efficient techniques critical for a successful operation, including:

-Establish operating procedures

-Perform a site hazard analysis

-Utilize fall protection systems for patient access

-Select appropriate patient packaging systems

-Rig rope systems for patient access and removal in both vertical and horizontal planes.

Students will be challenged through a series of increasingly complex scenarios at heights up to 80’

Stabilizing, lifting & capturing are the 3 vital components associated with a successful rescue operation when dealing with a confirmed pin. Remove any one of these, and the results could be disastrous for the victim & rescuers. This class is designed to provide students with a better understanding of the lifting & stabilization equipment typically used in the fire service.
